Project Summary
The Amherst Island Wind Project began construction in December 2016. The project has a total of 26 “permitted” 3.2 MW Siemens turbines and is expected to produce 75 megawatts (MW) of generating capacity.
The Project is located within Loyalist Township in the County of Lennox and Addington in eastern Ontario. The project was proposed in response to the Government of Ontario`s initiative to promote the development of renewable electricity in the province. The project is developed, constructed, operated by Windlectric Inc.

S18 Blade Replacement
August 24, 2020
Dear Amherst Island Residents and Visitors,
Please be advised that starting August 25th, Windlectric will be conducting maintenance activities at turbine S18. This work includes blade replacement and minor roadwork. The project is expected to take 2-4 weeks and may require night-time and weekend work.
