Update to the Operations Plan

In the interest of clarity ahead of the Operations Plan townhall tomorrow, we are identifying some editorial errors that were made in the March 28 version of the Operations Plan:

1. An incorrect version of Schedule 19 was provided in our submission on March 28. The correct version of this schedule has been uploaded to the project website (http://amherstislandwindproject.com).

2. The reference in the last sentence of the first paragraph to Section 2.1.2 of the Operations Plan will be corrected in the next version to read as follows:
The routes and the direction of travel for the delivery of Heavy Loads are identified in Schedule 03 Schedule 02 (see drawing AMHST – 207 AMHST‐206 “Delivery Routes for Heavy Loads”).

3. The reference to these Schedules in the Traffic Management Plan need to be updated as follows:
Construction vehicles (including gravel trucks and deliveries of turbine components) and equipment will reach the 26 turbine sites based on the Delivery Routes for Heavy Loads Drawing AMHST-207, Rev. 1 dated Sept. 15, 2015, and Delivery Routes for Turbines Drawings AMHST-206, Rev. 2 dated Sept. 15, 2015 (see Operations Plan Schedule 19 Schedule 20 “Delivery Routes for Turbines” and Operations Plan Schedule 3 “Heavy Load Traffic By Road”, respectively).

Barge Update

The recent sinking of the Pitts Carillon barge at Picton Terminals is very unfortunate. The barge was being prepared for use at the Amherst Island Wind Project, but was outside the project’s boundary at the time of the event. For the latest, most accurate information on the events at Picton Terminal, please visit the Canadian Coast Guard website.

January 21, 2017

On Saturday morning, January 21st, 2017, during project construction activities related to the project’s island dock, one of the project’s contractors inadvertently contacted the ground conductor of the overhead distribution power line that runs parallel to Front Road. As a consequence, power was interrupted to a large number of homes on Amherst Island.

Hydro One was contacted immediately, and power was restored within approximately 90 minutes of the event.

No injuries occurred as a consequence of this event.

Windlectric is investigating this incident and the results of the investigation will be posted on the website next week.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.

We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.
